I recently attended wedding fayres at The Northern Echo Arena, Darlington and Redworth Hall Hotel organised by Darlington Weddings. It was a pleasure speaking to future brides, grooms, their friends and family. A lot of interest was expressed in tooth straightening (orthodontic treatment) and tooth whitening.
It is often possible to carry out straightening of teeth in 6-9 months. Before this can start however, there needs to be some dental information gathering, treatment planning and consent obtained which can take a month or so before treatment. Over the years I have also learned to allow for unexpected hold ups to treatment when estimating lengths of treatment.
In January we started orthodontic treatment for 2 brides each of whom has a big day in October. I’m cautiously optimistic treatment will be complete but of course as a responsible clinician I could never GUARANTEE this.
So please, PLEASE plan well ahead with pre-wedding orthodontic treatment. Factor in a bit of extra time for the unexpected UNEXPECTED. If you are planning teeth whitening following completion of your orthodontic treatment, allow for an additional month of treatment.
Plan well ahead! We don’t want any brides or grooms disappointed with their smiles on the big day.
